Betty struggles to come up with the cash to solve the latest Suarez family dilemma while also planning Mode's big Secretaries Day (or Administrative Professionals Day, as she prefers to call it) bash at a medieval themed restaurant in Times Square called The Middle Ages. Amanda, wearing another Tavares original, tells Marc that she doesn't plan to attend the event. Wilhelmina tries to get Bradford to take her out to a public place for a change, but he tells her that he won't hurt Claire that way. Rodrigo still tries to convince Alexis to go to Brazil with him, but she tells him that she has to think about it, not just because she has sideburns and a mustache in her old passport. Betty tries to convince Daniel to get his sexual addiction issues under control and she arranges for him to talk to a professional. Amanda confesses to Marc that she has a secret connection to The Middle Ages that she'd like to forget... When she was a struggling actress, she'd played a hostess in a welcome video that is played for restaurant patrons. Alexis visits Claire in prison to get her advice about her Rodrigo situation and Claire suggests that Alexis should take her chance at love. Amanda finally agrees to go with Marc to the Mode event and she's mortified, not pleased, to discover that she'd been replaced in the video by a younger actress. Betty is determined to ride a bucking mechanical horse to win money to help Ignacio to get enough money to make a trip to Mexico to straighten out his immigration situation, but Henry says that he will do it for her, so she won't get hurt. Wilhelmina visits Claire in prison to rub her affair with Bradford in her face. Henry is busy arguing with Charlie on his cell phone when his name is called to ride the electric beast, so Betty gives it a try, but she fails. When he hears Nick Pepper making fun of Betty, Henry comes to her defense, and the two are soon forced into settling the matter in an olde tyme challenge. At the same time, Marc and Wilhelmina get in a physical fight, at her instigation, and he ends up knocking her down a flight of stairs. Watching Henry defend her honor, Betty imagines him as her knight in shining armor. After Nick brutalizes Henry, Betty runs to his prone body on the mat and he tells her that he loves her, right before he passes out. Just then, Charlie shows up and tells Betty to back off. While at Rodrigo's place, Alexis picks up his phone and overhears him scheming with Bradford. Ignacio tells Hilda that he doesn't want to go to Mexico, because he's afraid that he might not be able to return to the United States. Hilda takes an important exam at beauty school. Wilhelmina tells Bradford that Claire had her beaten up, so he'll finally cut ties with his wife. Alexis makes a phone call to arrange to have her father eliminated. Daniel surprises Betty with first-class tickets to Mexico for her and her family as an Administrative Professionals Day gift.

Trivia:
• The Amanda storyline was probably an inside joke, making reference to a commercial that Becky Newton had filmed (before she gained fame for her "Ugly Betty" role) for the Olive Garden chain of family-style eateries, in which she played a restaurant hostess.
• The Middle Ages is a spoof of the Medieval Times chain.
• We hear Henry's last name, Grubstick, for the first time.
